For the past seven years, San Diego has gained noteriety in the food and wine industry with San Diego Bay’s Wine and Food Festival. People from all over trek to Downtown San Diego for this food and wine lover event. This marks the 8th annual festival adorned with cooking classes, wine tastings and banquets created by top chefs.

With over 10,000 people attending last year, this year’s festival is bound to be a huge success-especially with classes like Belgian beer tasting and pairings, an Italian Masters class and an all stars seafood class. Very cool. But the highlight of the festival takes place on Saturday, November 19th with the culminating event, Grand Tasting.

At the Grand Tasting, located at Embarcadero Park North, 170 wine and spirit purveyors will be pouring tastings, live entertainment will fill the air, food pairings from dozens of San Diego’s well known restaraunts and a chef competition where the prize is $50,000 make this event one not to miss. Following the Grand Tasting is the Mixologist After Party, a new event this year, held at the US Grant Hotel. And if that is not enough for you wine and food connoisseurs, on Sunday, November 20th there will be a Celebrity Chef Luncheon and wine auction. Proceeds from this event go towards scholarships to help San Diego’s culinary students advance their education.
