Downtown San Diego Parks

When you think of Downtown San Diego living, green space probably isn’t the first (or second, or third) thing that comes to mind, and if you have pets or children, a lack of green space might be a deal breaker. Luckily, the 92101 zip code is home to quite a few wonderful parks and outdoor spaces.

Waterfront Park
San Diego’s new Waterfront Park truly embodies its name, with a beautiful location on the bay and numerous spray water fountains to cool off the young and young at heart on those warm summer days. The park also features picnic areas, a children’s play area, and several garden rooms, each with its own theme.

Harbor Island Park
Just a short distance from some of the best waterfront penthouses in Downtown San Diego is Harbor Island Park. This beautiful bayside park has a long, wide path for walking, jogging, and biking, and offers visitors a pleasant breeze and an expansive view of the downtown skyline.

Ruocco Park
Located alongside the Port of San Diego, Ruocco Park provides visitors with a spectacular view of the San Diego Bay. This new urban park sits against the backdrop of Downtown San Diego and features an incredible land art structure by San Diego artist Roman de Salvo.

Amici Park
Little Italy’s Amici Park offers a charming outdoor space, with Bocce ball courts for those who know the sport or want to give it a try and a farmer’s market on Saturdays. Visit the park in October to see the Amici Park Bocce Ball Tournament.

Tuna Harbor Park
Tuna Harbor Park borders the marina and commemorates war heroes with its three war memorials and romantic Unconditional Surrender Statue, based on the famous V-J Day in Times Square photograph.

Embarcadero Marina Park North
Right next to Seaport Village’s numerous dining, shopping and entertainment options is Embarcadero Marina Park North. The wide-open space and waterfront location of this beautiful park make it a wonderful place to have a picnic or host a special event.
