Living in Downtown San Diego’s Gaslamp Quarter

Maybe you’re new to the area or thinking of buying a Downtown San Diego condo for sale and wonder what life is like for locals. Whether you’re curious or just looking to shake up your daily routine, here’s a peek at a day in the life of a Gaslamp Quarter resident.

Breakfast at Le Parfait Paris

Situated on the boarder between the Gaslamp and Downtown San Diego East Village, Le Parfait has been open less than a year and is already a favorite among locals. Start the day with a fresh croques, toast d’azure, or a power fruit bowl and a cappuccino, and take a few macaroons or Madelines for a pick-me-up later in the day.

Shopping at Dolcetti Boutique

You’ll need more than a few minutes to browse through the racks at Dolcetti. The owners handpick items for sale, support local designers, and are frequently around to help shoppers find what looks best on them. Pick up an outfit for the night, find a few great pieces for an upcoming trip, or just buy the dress because it looks too good on you not to pass up.

Date Night at Night Plaza

Downtown San Diego summers are meant for activities like Night Plaza. The kid and dog-friendly pop-up event occurs once or twice a month from June through September between 4th and 5th Avenues. Each experience is designed to stimulate and motivate visitors through unique performances. Local and traveling artists play throughout the event, and various restaurants in the area provide complimentary hors d’oeuvres.

Dinner at Allure

After exercising your creative side, finish your evening at Allure on 4th Ave. The executive chef, Melissa Magallon, who was at the helm of Burlap, Herringbone, and Searsucker, developed a menu that combines a modern approach with the best of the season. Must-haves include the calamari, the pork belly, and the short ribs. If you still have room, wind down with the grilled carrot cake, cheesecake parfait, or mini churros.
