Makers Quarter is a proposed hub for creativity and innovation in the East Village Neighborhood of Downtown San Diego.  The concept of Makers Quarter is to develop an area with resources and space for new ideas and creative ventures.   With the development of residential housing (both rental and resale), business space (both retail and office), and public space – Makers Quarter will support a neighborhood of entrepreneurs artists, and “Makers”.  The Mission Statement is simple…”Create a cultural Hub” that accomplishes:

  • An area to establish and promote San Diego’s Core Culture (Artistic and Business)
  • Create an Employment hub for Downtown and San Diego’s Developing businesses
  • Create an Authentic, dense and sustainable Urban Space
  • Foster a “walkable” Neighborhood that fosters a healthy and community orientated urban community lifestyle

The East Village is experiencing tremendous growth.  Large developments like Ballpark Village, The Pendry Hotel, and residential rental complexes Pinnacle and Blue Sky will add over 6500 new residential, office, and hotel units to the East Village in the next 5 years.   Many expect that by 2020 over 50% of the workforce will be Millennial. The Millennial generation will thrive in a collaborative and shared community urban space, and Makers quarter is expected to be the hub. ')}
