5 Reasons You Should Take Your Kids to the San Diego Zoo This Year

By Mike in Things to Do in downtown San Diego with 0 Comments

The San Diego Zoo celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2016 with a promise to uphold its status as the best family attraction in Southern California. What this means for children in 2017 is that they will be able to enjoy plenty of fun activities. Whether you’re here for a visit or you own local real estate, 92101 Urban Living recommends taking the kids to the zoo at least once in the new year. Here are 5 things parents should know about the San Diego Zoo and the fun their children can have.

1. Kinder Programs

The San Diego Zoo has a staff of early childhood specialists who create special experiences for kids between 18 months to 3 years of age. These experiences serve to introduce children to the natural wonders of our world. The Kinder Nights program takes place once a month and features animal interactions for children between 3 and 6.

2. Early Morning Panda Experience

Members of the Ailuropoda melanoleuca species are at their most active and cutest in the morning when they enjoy enormous amounts of bamboo for breakfast. Panda bears are the stars of the San Diego Zoo. In this special experience, children get to view these magnificent Ursidae for 2 hours before the rest of the visitors arrive.

3. Animal Photography Workshop

Children who show keen interest in taking pictures with their smartphones will enjoy this 3-hour long workshop conducted by expert wildlife photographers. Classes will be offered on February 25th, March 18th, and March 25th.

4. Skyfari Tour

For both kids and their parents, this unique aerial tour is one of the best ways to enjoy the entire zoo, the animals, and the carefully maintained habitats. Double strollers are not allowed.

5. Kangaroo Bus

With so much to see and do at the zoo, parents and children will appreciate the convenience of sitting back and letting someone drive them around on a tour of the park. The Kangaroo Bus runs from 10:30 in the morning until 7:15 pm, with stops every 15 minutes.

Though the San Diego Zoo is one of the best local attractions, there are many other reasons to consider moving to the downtown area. Give 92101 Urban Living a call at 619-649-0368, and we can show you some of the amazing condos, lofts, and penthouses in 92101. We hope to hear from you soon. ')}
