Our Downtown San Diego real estate agents are, without a doubt, foodies through and through, which is why they are so excited that San Diego Restaurant Week is right around the corner! The week of January 17-24, 2016, is one local foodies have been drooling over since the last restaurant week came to a close in September. It is the perfect way to patronize familiar haunts and explore new cuisines. In addition to the sampling great food there is the chance to contribute to a number of local charities.
Many local sponsors in the business world are involved in bringing this event to life. Some of these are Sysco, Specialty Produce, American Express, and Heartland Payment Systems. Media sponsors come from all areas like U-T San Diego, San Diego Magazine, OpenTable.com, 105.7 FM MAX, Vin Diego Wine and Food Festival. A portion of the receipts from the festival will go to charities helping those in need in the San Diego area.
There are nearly 200 restaurants that will offer delightful meals for the week. On the sandiegoresturantweek.com website there are many ways to search for the restaurants that are taking part. The search can be done by the food type, price, neighborhood, name of the restaurant, and distance. If in doubt whether a favorite restaurant is going to be involved check with them directly.
Special prices will be offered during the week for lunch and dinner. A three course prix-fixe dinner menus are $20, $30, $40, and $50 while two course prix-fixe lunch menus are $10, $15, and $20 per person. It is important to remember there are no tickets needed, but a reservation would be a good idea. Menus will be available online prior the event to give foodies and non-foodies alike a chance to narrow down favorites.
While the event isn’t exclusive to Downtown, the neighborhood sure does offer some of the best restaurants to sample, including Fogo de Chao, Oceanaire, and Monello.
