Spirits Festival in Downtown San Diego

While August might signify the end of summer in most cities, in San Diego it’s more like the halfway mark. If you need a little break from the beach before going hard in a few weeks for Labor Day, head on down to the annual Spirits Festival where the Downtown San Diego Marina District meets Little Italy.

When
August 22 from 2-6pm
August 23 from 1-5pm

Where
Port Pavilion Harbor Pier on Broadway Drive

What
The Spirits Festival is a celebration of all things cocktail and culinary. Organizers of this event have created a fun and responsible way to celebrate the latest offerings in craft cocktail making while enjoying food from the best local restaurants.

Attendees can watch demonstrations by national liquor manufacturers, witness competitive cocktail making by local bartenders, and enjoy tunes by some of the area’s best bands. Musical guests this year include Giraffe, Carlos X and the Jazz Pigs, and Whitley Heights. And festival goers won’t leave this festival empty handed as the Spirits Festival is a great place to pick up promotional discounts for restaurants, clubs, and more.

Who
If you didn’t already guess, the Spirits Festival is not an event for the entire family. It is only open to folks 21 and over, and festivalgoers should bring identification with them that can verify their age.

Cost
One-day tickets are $90, or you can purchase a two-day ticket for $150. If you plan on being the sober driver at the event, you can purchase a special “designated driver” ticket for $25. All tickets are all-inclusive and include unlimited food tastings and samples. The tickets also include unlimited cocktail and wine tastings with the exception of designated driver ticket holders.

Downtown hosts a number of great festivals and events year-round, making it one of the best neighborhoods for people who enjoy living an active urban lifestyle.
