Friday, December 5 kicks off the holiday season at Balboa Park’s December Nights Festival. December Nights is expected to attract more than 300,000 visitors over two days.
Festivites begin Friday at 5:00 p.m. and are open until 10:00 p.m. and Saturday, December 6, from Noon-10:00 p.m.
In the spirit of the holidays, participating Balboa Park museums open their doors free of charge both evenings. Beautiful displays will light the gorgeous Spanish Revival architecture in the Plaza de Panama’s expanded entertainment area. The SDG&E Holiday Light Canopy again covers the center of Plaza, welcoming visitors with dazzling holiday cheer. The Palisades Midway is now the ultimate family zone with new kid-friendly experiences and family entertainment. For the first time, families will get to enjoy Ice Skating in the Park. The Cascades Holiday Marketplace brings crafts, foods and entertainment from around the world. The International Cottage Christmas Festival features authentic music, crafts, dance and other holiday traditions from more than 30 countries.
