A Dialogue With The Urban Landscape - The Museum of Contemporary Art in Downtown San Diego

The Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego, presents Viva la Revolucion: A Dialogue with the Urban Landscape.

Did you guys know that for the first time in history, the majority of the worlds population lives in urban communities? When it comes to contemporary culture, the urban setting and its corresponding lifestyle are major sources of inspiration. As you walk down the streets of pretty much any big city you can find an appropriated and integral part of contemporary art making – the codes and icons of graffiti, signage, waste, tattoos, advertising and graphic design.

Viva la Revolucion explores the dialogue between artists and the urban landscape and features works both in the Museums galleries as well as at public sites throughout Downtown San Diego. The exhibition has 20 artists from 10 different countries that are linked together by how their work addresses urban issues. Come on down and check this out…the exhibit runs through January 2nd, 2011.
