Downtown San Diego hosts great events all year long, and August is no different. Whether you are visiting for a few days or checking out the area because you’re thinking of buying a Downtown San Diego penthouse, loft, or condo, you will not have trouble finding something fun to do. While there are dozens of great things on the calendar, these are the can’t-miss events in the second half of August.
Ferragosto will turn Amici Park in Little Italy into Pompeii (pre-volcano) on August 15. San Diego’s best restaurants will be at Ferragosto serving food and drinks, and there will also be carnival rides, live music, and dancing. All-inclusive tickets for Ferragosto are available for $115, and all of the proceeds go to charity.
2015 Best of San Diego
You can experience the best restaurants, breweries, and wineries the city has to offer at the Best of San Diego party on August 21 at NTC Venues at Liberty Station. Tickets are available for $75, and they include unlimited food and drinks. Live entertainment will also be provided by some of San Diego’s best DJs.
Movie on the Roof
August 27 will be the last time this summer you can head to the Whole Foods in Hillcrest to watch a movie on the roof. They will be playing the classic film “The Goonies”, and everyone can watch the movie for free, which easily makes this one of the best events in San Diego this August. Free snacks will also be provided.
San Diego Brew & Food Festival
The first annual San Diego Brew & Food Festival will be held on August 29 at Waterfront Park near the Marina District in Downtown San Diego. Over 70 different breweries will be at the event to serve more than 200 varieties of beer. Tickets to sample all of the beers are available for $45. There will also be live music by Down North, The Routine and Jonny Tarr.
