Living in East Village San Diego

Residents in East Village Downtown San Diego enjoy the best of both worlds: The community feeling in the middle of an urban jungle. East Village has undergone and continues to undergo major revitalization, gentrifying a once rundown neighborhood and turning it into one of the most desired locations in San Diego.

East Village is bursting with gourmet coffee shops, funky art boutiques, eclectic restaurants, and tons to do on any given day. Many locals like to pop into Cafe Virtuoso for a cup of their famous organic coffee to start their mornings, or grab a bite at The Mission on 13th and J.

If you’re one of the many young professionals or night owls who set their own schedules, after spending the morning sipping coffee you might swing through a boutique or two to pick up a new outfit for the evening. Local favorites include Amy Rae Boutique and Bespoke Cut & Sew. You can also find some of the best vintage in San Diego at City Digz.

Makers Quarter is an awesome place to be inspired any time of day, whether you are an artist or entrepreneur. This new addition to East Village encompasses a broader concept of building community spirit and bringing creative talents together. Events are always being held at Makers Quarter, such as craft beer festivals, cirque dinner shows, and concerts featuring up-and-coming local bands.

Wind down the day with dinner at Rustic or Table No. 10, two favorite tapas bars, or Stella Public House for something more casual before grabbing drinks at Basic or Blind Burro and hitting Altitude for a little networking with your final cocktail for the night.
