Central-Courthouse

One of the most impactful industries in Downtown San Diego is the legal profession.  Big firms, small firms, and countless independent lawyers and support staff are located in Downtown San Diego supporting the Federal, Criminal, and Civic law practices.   Due to the close proximity of living and work, these lawyers and their staffs are well represented as owners and renters of Downtown San Diego condos.

In it’s Daily Business Report for March 10th 2014, SD Metro Magazine Reports on a new addition to the San Diego Skyline.  Today there is a ground-breaking ceremony  scheduled for construction of the new 22 Story Downtown San Diego Central Courthouse.   Located in the Columbia District, the new Central Courthouse will be located on the Blocks bounded by B, C, State and Union Streets.   It is a much needed Civic Project for Downtown that will both update the overcrowded and outdated court facilities in San Diego.   The Courthouse will provide for the consolidation of criminal trial, family court, and civic courts.    Designed by Architects SOM  the new facility will additionally add a modern “face” to this older and aging area in and around the lower C Street corridor that the Trolley runs along.   Click HERE to see the renderings of what will become an amazing building.
