Florin are you saying to download the standard asdm .bin file from Cisco support site, load it to the ASA, enable http and after its loaded & http is configured properly, http to the ASA & I should see a download option? This is correct, cisco doesn’t have a separate download for the launcher it seems after searching their downloads you must get it from the device itself. I do not see any reason 2fa auth wil block ASDM download, may be any security end device restrictions? I have tried different java version, for me it seems like asdm problem. If you have Java 9 or newer installed you will have to do a couple more steps.
Install the 32-bit version of Java 8 (Since Java 11 is 64-bit only we only need the 32-bit part of Java 8 for ASDM to launch) I have had issues with newer Java versions as well. Then you’ll be looking at the shortcut to the ASDM launcher, right-click it and go to Properties and look at the Target. See if you can work with this image…(rename it to .bin after downloading)… I do, but I’m not comfortable posting it online given it’s for the firewall. Also, there should be a default version already on your disk0. The requested URL /cgi-bin/tablebuild.pl/asa was not found on this server. The two options are ASDM and the ASA software.
That same version is working fine for me on a 64-bit Windows 7 PC – whether in demo mode or logging into an actual ASA. Can anyone point me to the working ADSM demo software on Windwows. I am not 100 percent sure, but it appears to be Corretto needs to be installed first and then ASDM either installed or reinstalled. I then decided to install ASDM again, browsed to IP of ASA and downloaded it. I installed ASDM, then went out and grabbed Corretto. This will work on the latest Java 8 version, so no reason to compromise security here.
