It’s not officially summer in San Diego until the first pool party kicks off. If you just bought a loft or condo for sale in downtown San Diego and are new to the area, you might not be sure what we’re talking about. That won’t last long.
Club Flamingo
Club Flamingo at Hotel Solamar kicked off its inaugural season May 1. Setting itself apart from other pool parties, Club Flamingo touts classy, vintage vibes and a real throwback feel. Enjoy cocktails, tropical house music, and sunshine from noon to 6pm Sundays throughout the summer months. Tickets are $10-15 and VIP service is available.
SUNBURN
If you were one of the many who wondered what would happen when Hard Rock’s Float disappeared, don’t worry, SUNBURN is here to take its place. While not quite as rambunctious as Float, SUNBURN promises a laidback pool party, snacky BBQ, and more fun than you can handle. Admission starts at $10 and VIP cabanas are available as well.
RoofTop600
Unlike SUNBURN and Club Flamingo, RoofTop600’s pool parties only happen periodically throughout the summer, typically on the big weekends. This year, the pool party kicks off Memorial Day Weekend from 1-7pm with DJ Cherokee getting things started. RoofTop600 also promises parties 4th of July weekend as well as Labor Day. Tickets start at $15, but cabanas and tables are available if that’s more your style.
French Riviera Soiree and Swim Club
Looking for something a little more upscale? Head over to the Westgate hotel for an exclusive poolside soiree. Happening the second Saturday of every month from mid-June until mid-September, this low-key affair promises laidback beats, delicious craft cocktails from the onsite mixologist, and an unprecedented sophisticated vibe. Just 50 tickets are sold for each event at $25 apiece and VIP cabanas are available.
