It’s no secret that we have a tremendous military presence in downtown San Diego and surrounding areas in the county. There is a great deal of pride and respect for these men and women who protect our safety and that of our country. So when an initiative such as Blue Star Museums is created to show our appreciation for our military, and present them with an opportunity to enjoy the culture they work so hard to protect, I say, “Bravo.” This is just a small way to show our appreciation for our military neighbors.
From now until Labor Day, nine participating museums in Balboa Park are offering free admission to active duty military and their families. For those of you serving in our military, I hope that you have an opportunity to take advantage of this well-deserved privilege.
