One of Downtown San Diego’s newest Coffee shops, located in the East Village, will host their grand opening this Saturday December 9. On behalf of Eco Verse, in conjunction with Jing Si Books & Cafe, and affiliation with Buddhist Tzu Chi Foundation…the grand event will be held on 11th Ave just outside of their ICON storefront between 11AM and 4PM.
One of the best things about Eco Verse is that it is more than just a coffee shop and cafe. They are an organization that is focused on conscious living, carbon output, community improvement, and neighborhood improvement. They offer gourmet coffee and tea in a relaxing environment that promotes sustainable living in an urban environment. Eco Verse and Jing Si Books and Cafe are the flagship eco-community center of the Buddhist Tzu Chi Foundation. The foundation is a non-profit and non-governmental organization that is comprised of “humanitarian charitable volunteers that has been serving the needy with gratitude, respect, and love since 1966″.
The grand opening “Street Fair” is the latest of Eco Verse events that will gather the community for fun, entertainment, and educational activities. In additional to free samplings of Jing Si organic coffees and teas, the Grand opening will feature interactive activities and workshops on the simple and effective ways that we, as urban residents of Downtown San Diego Condos, can positively impact our special environment every day. Workshops and Educational Activities will include:
• Reduce your pet’s carbon “paw print”
• Separate your recyclables at home
• Dispose of E-Waste Properly
• Stop Receiving Unwanted Junk Mail
• Throw a Zero Waste Party
• Make your Own Compost at home
• Grow your own garden: even in the city
• Make arts and crafts with Recyclables
• Turn Plastic Bottles into Beautiful Vases
