Hornblower Cruises on the San Diego BayAs a Downtown San Diego Condo and Loft homeowner, it’s hard to get out on the water as much as I’d like to. Just the other day I decided to head out to the San Diego Bay and board one of the Hornblower ships and take part in the 2 hour Sights and Sips Cocktail Cruise. Let me tell you, this was a fun experience! I even learned a few cool facts as the captain of the ship tells some stories while we are cruising.

Did you know that at 32nd Street Naval Base there is a hospital ship and if you took it out off the water it would be the 7th largest hospital in the world? Don’t worry he doesn’t talk very much and this is definitely not a guided tour, he just lets you know some fun facts like that one.

The boat takes off from Broadway Pier in the Columbia District at 6pm and returns at 8pm. Downtown San Diego residents can walk there from about anywhere in Downtown so parking will not be an issue. The weather this time of year is a little chilly when the sun goes down so bring a jacket. Also bring your camera because you will get amazing views of the Downtown San Diego skyline. Complimentary finger food will be served along with a cash bar where they offer cocktails and wine.
