iceskating.jpgThis isn’t new news but it sure is exciting news! Ice Skating at Horton Plaza is here and officially makes it feel like the holidays have arrived in Downtown San Diego! For those of you new to this event, you should know right away what a great cause this benefits: Pekham Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders at Rady’s Children’s Hospital.

Just knowing where your money goes should encourage you to enjoy this good time. Get on down to Horton Plaza tonight for the grand opening! At 5pm Figure Skating Shows begin followed by $5 skate all evening ice skating. What a great deal and fun way to kick off the ice skating season. The figure skating show is just one of many events at the rink. On November 30th at 7:30pm there will be a Tree Lighting event and on December 11th from 1-4pm it’s Family Day. The kiddos can visit with Santa, Cat in the Hat, Curious George, take part in craft making plus ice skating. And again, all proceeds benefit Rady’s Children’s Hospital-which makes it all worth it in my book.

Rink hours are Monday-Thursday, 10am-10pm and Friday-Sunday 10-7:30pm and 8-10pm. Keep in mind that the day time hours are filled with kids and families, post-sunset with fast paced teenagers and night sessions-adults out to have a good time on skates. Enjoy ice skating from November 17-January 8th knowing that your money is helping children in San Diego. ')}
