Downtown San Diego is known for many things: The Gaslamp Quarter, Little Italy, Petco, ships and the bay to name a few. So when National Maritime Week rolls around, downtown San Diego naturally takes part.

To honor the maritime industry, as well as the economic impact it has on our bay, there will be a breakfast on Tuesday, May 17th. For $50, enjoy a morning meal at the San Diego Marriot Marquis and Marina from 8-9:30am. Leaders from the U.S. Navy and representatives from various public and private sectors will speak of the maritime industry and the billions of dollars, as well as thousands of jobs, it provides.

There will also be a free event to the public on Saturday, May 21st. From 10-2pm at the Port Pavilion on Broadway Pier honoring San Diego’s maritime past, present and future.
