The San Diego Film Festival is held in the Gaslamp District in Downtown San Diego and is a competitive five day fest that offers a 360 festival experience. You can choose a relaxing day of film and a night of parties or catching a workshop and hitting a conference to learn from the pros, whatever you decide, no day is like another at the Film Festival.
The Festival offers more than 100 American and international feature, documentary, short films and music videos; intimate filmmaker and celebrity gatherings; industry panels; in addition to five nights of San Diego’s most glamorous parties.
San Diego Film Festival has earned more than 12 awards, including Best Beach Fest, Best Party Fest, Best Regional Film Fest and a coveted spot as one of the country’s Top 10 Film Festival Vacations. Produced by the non profit 501(C) 3 San Diego Film Foundation, the Festival celebrates its eighth anniversary Sept. 23 – 27, 2009
The San Diego Film Foundation, aims to educate, enlighten and entertain, bringing greater exposure and appreciation of independent film. The Foundation was established to create and implement film programs in partnership with local filmmakers, businesses, educational institutions and nonprofit social organizations.
For five fabulous days and nights September 23 – 27th, the San Diego Film Festival will showcase a unique mix of thought-provoking, award-winning films designed to enlighten, enrich and entertain audiences. The Festivals program includes over 85 features, shorts, documentaries and music videos from around the World, all of which are San Diego or U.S. premieres. Most screenings are followed by live question and answer sessions with the filmmakers and cast in attendance.
The best way to experience all that the Film Festival offers is with a pass. The Festival do sell limited individual tickets to screenings but pass holders have priority and are always admitted first to all screenings, parties, panels and events. All films are screened at the Gaslamp Theater, 701 Fifth Avenue, San Diego, 92101.
