San Diego Bay Parade of LightsSo what’s going on around Downtown to kick-off the Holidays you might ask? Well, if you’re one of the lucky residents of a San Diego Condo or Loft who happens to live in the Marina or Columbia District way up in the sky you’ll be able to catch views of the 37th Annual San Diego Bay Parade of Lights. If not you can join the more than 80,000 people that gather along the waterfront to take in the sights of more than 100 boats decorated for the holiday season.

The Parade will begin on Sunday, December 14th at 5:30 p.m. with a free fireworks show and will take place again on Sunday, December 21st at 5:30 p.m. Boats will begin their parade journey at the East end of Shelter Island and end at Coronado Island. The exact schedule of the parade is as follows:

  • Shelter Island (start of parade) – 5:30pm
  • Harbor Island – 6pm
  • The Embarcadero – 6:30pm
  • Seaport Village – 7pm
  • Ferry Landing on Coronado – 7:30pm

This years theme is ‘Rock and Roll Around the Bay’ and each boat will be judged on creativity and crowd engagement. For more information on this years event visit http://www.sdparadeoflights.org/index.html.
