San Diego welcomes back the USA Sevens Tournament! The Sevens Tournament is the largest Rugby event in North America. According to tradition, Rugby originated in 1823 on the playing fields of Rugby, England. It is related to both soccer and American Football. Traditionally a 15-player-per-side game, the Sevens are played with only seven players per team and packed with non-stop excitement, unbelievable athleticism, and game saving tackles.
The Sevens Tournament features teams from 16 countries, playing in 44 exhilarating games. The games are hosted at downtown San Diegos Petco Park on February 9th-10th and the weather is predicted to be clear and 71 degrees throughout the weekend! The game experience is amplified by the International Fan Festival. The Festival offers a variety of activities and fare. .and. the excitement wont end when the sun goes down.
