Downtown San Diego – No More Free Parking at Horton Plaza

Downtown San Diego

In a move sure to affect many of our Downtown San Diego residents and visitors, Horton Plaza has recently announced that they will no longer validate the 3 hours of free parking in their parking garage as they used to. As a Downtown San Diego Condo home owner and a resident of the East Village/Ballpark neighborhood, this will certainly encroach on an already tense parking situation in and around the Gaslamp Quarter and the other neighborhoods in Downtown San Diego.

It now requires a $10 purchase from any of the mall stores to get those 3 hours of free parking, otherwise, you’re looking at $8/hr. The evening flat rate of $20 after 9pm did not change. With expensive valets and only 12 minutes for $0.25 parking meters, many Downtown San Diego residents and visitors will now lose their parking oasis in the heart of Downtown San Diego. ')}
