Low-Cost, Creative Kitchen Storage Ideas

By Mike in Urban Lifestyle with 0 Comments

Whether you live in a condo or a penthouse in Downtown San Diego, there always seems to be a lack of storage space in the kitchen. If you’re struggling to find a place for everything, consider the following tips.

1. Pot and Pan Holders

Stacking pots and pans inside kitchen cabinets can fill up the space quickly. Pot and pan holders are great space savers and you can use these to display over-sized pans in your kitchen as part of your decor. Choose an over-the-island or big, blank wall area for these rod and hook style pan holders.

2. Pull-Out Pantry

A pull-out pantry using sliding drawers is a great choice to store canned foods and other dry items, like spices. You can convert current cabinet space into a pull-out pantry or get a standing storage tower that fits between the fridge and the cabinets.

3. Cabinet door racks

Cabinet racks are easy to install and are a great solution for items like spices, foil and plastic wrap, cleaning supplies, and even pot lids. If you don’t feel handy enough to install these racks yourself, there are over-the-door racks you can purchase as well (although they aren’t as aesthetically pleasing).

4. Magnetic knife holder

Magnetic knife holders are a big space saver. You can spring for a nice one or try a DIY alternative by purchasing some inexpensive magnet rods and gluing them to your kitchen wall or cabinet doors.
