Downtown San Diego Projects Will Be DelayedI am sure you already walked on, seen and heard about the new Harbor Drive Pedestrian Bridge over in the East Village/Ballpark District right next to Petco Park that was completed a couple of months ago. As a Downtown San Diego Condo and Loft home owner the bridge has really brought some valuable perks to being a resident in the East Village and Downtown San Diego. Now we can easily get access over to the water front, the San Diego Convention Center, Seaport Village and the Marina District without having to cross over the Gaslamp District.

The bridge has a main purpose which is to connect the San Diego Bay with Balboa Park. The CCDC are now announcing that there will be an 80 percent cut in capital improvements that will delay the landscaping plan around the bridge. Some other projects that will be effected are new parks, such as the one next to St. Joseph’s Cathedral in the East Village, a new fire station, sidewalks, traffic and public art projects.

For more information about the cut of capital visit the San Diego Union Tribune’s article Downtown Redevelopment funding faces 80 percent cut. ')}
