Real Estate TechnologyIt’s great to see the changes that have taken place in the Real Estate industry in the last few years. Many Realtors are recognizing the importance of having a strong online presence in order to ensure that they are marketing listings as efficiently as possible. In the past, Realtors were doing a fantastic job if they produced high-quality listing photos for the MLS and were available to show the property when needed. Nowadays though, its essential to add a few extra layers to the old ways.

Here at 92101 Urban Living, we know that the typical Downtown San Diego condo buyer is beginning their search online. According to polling statistics from the NAR, 90% of home buyers used the internet to help find their home. Now, I don’t think that any Realtor can feign surprise by this number. We’ve known about this trend for years now and have ensured that we maintain one of (if not THE) strongest Real Estate website for Downtown San Diego. Consistent blogging about current events that are affecting our Downtown San Diego homebuyers and sellers, working with SEO specialists, and sharing through social media are all key factors of our day to day operations. Thankfully, new advancements in technology have allowed us to add one more layer to our online capabilities.

Below is an interactive walkthrough of our upcoming listing at 875 G St #212. With a combination of new camera technology on the Android platform and Google Maps we can now give home buyers a chance to actually “walk through” our listing and view the home from numerous spots as if they were standing inside themselves. This tool, combined with the professional photography and floor plan that they will find on the MLS, will give a potential buyer a real idea of the home that they are looking at, as opposed to the old school “video walkthroughs” which were just slideshows of the MLS photos set to music. Clients can actually click on the map below and spin in complete 360 degree circles to view the home from every angle. Then click over to the balcony and have an entire shot of the view.

We’ve seen a few other Realtors around San Diego using this technology and we definitely applaud them for it. The Real Estate industry has a bit of an image problem, sometimes being seen as “archaic” or “stuck in the past.” Realtors who embrace technology and make it an essential part of their business are just plain serving their clients better. As a potential Downtown San Diego home buyer/seller we highly encourage you to ask your Realtor how they incorporate Real Estate technology into their service.

As always, if you have any questions about buying or selling your home in Downtown San Diego, feel free to contact us. We look forward to helping you.
