On Decemebr 17th, 2010 at 10am the Port of San Diego is hosting a behind the scenes media tour to preview the New Broadway Pier located in the Columbia District in Downtown San Diego.
Members of the media will have the opportunity to view the two-story, 52,000 square foot building, which has room for approximately 2,500 passengers. With a saw-tooth roof, blue glass, iconic pylon at its front and colors reminiscent of San Diego Bay. The building will have a baggage claim area, a passenger waiting area, and a ticketing office. There will also be a station for customs and Homeland Security, a passenger disembarking area, and baggage handling. The building may be used for public events, and local public art will be included in the project.
