One Step Closer To A Downtown San Diego Homeless Center

The City of San Diego has decided to move one step closet to getting a homeless center in Downtown San Diego. The $31 million one stop service and housing center could be located in the old World Trade Center building in the Little Italy District. The City voted to enter exclusive talks with a development team that includes providers to convert the building into a temporary and permanent shelter for up to 225 people. If everything goes according to plan, the new project could start in November 2011 and be finsihed 13 months later.
